Don Drapery is the music outfit of frontman Jason Turner and lead guitarist Dan Gillis. Before becoming an unexpected duo of music talent and bravado, Turner and Gillis were already rockin' it out as members of band Exceptional Edward. With their former band, Turner and Gillis recorded three successful albums and performed together for five years. But life has a way of taking over, and so, Turner and Gillis took leaves separately. And yet, their passion for music was not exactly something that you can easily turn your back on. That's when Don Drapery was born.
As Don Drapery, Jason Turner and Dan Gillis have managed to come up with a brand new sound, a healthy dose of the good ol' days and a smattering of indie cred. It's evident in their 2012 release of their debut album 'Hard to Survive'. With the five-song EP, Don Drapery's tracks 'No Place to Raise a Child' and 'Not a Machine' - mixed and mastered by Gillis and Chris Graham - imbibe a nostalgic yet hard core music sensibility.
To date, the duo Don Drapery are well on their way to spread their music around, performing live shows and going on tour across the country in support of 'Hard to Survive'. They are also hard at work recording their second album. Get ready for more Don Drapery keeping it classy.
