  • Stamford-Norwalk, CT (1888PressRelease) August 16, 2011 - North Stamford Congregational Church presents The Big Flea, an annual fundraiser, on Friday, August 26, and Saturday, August 27, at the Stone House in Stamford, Connecticut. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday attendees can purchase furniture, household items, and more with proceeds benefiting the North Stamford Congregational Church and its outreach projects supporting the Fairfield County community. General admission is free.

Every year, The Big Flea-a large flea market and tag sale fundraiser-draws hundreds of people across the county who support its efforts. The event primarily benefits the church's outreach programs that support many local charities.

Furniture, home accessories, tools, collectibles, kids' items, bicycles, sporting goods and artwork, all at modest prices, will be available. Local vendors will sell hand-made crafts and jewelry.

For a sneak peek at items prior to the event, shoppers can come to early admission on Friday, August 26, between 8 and 9 a.m. for a $15 entry fee. On Saturday, August 27, items will be 50 percent off beginning at 1 p.m. At 3:15 p.m. everything left will be free. Only cash and checks are accepted.

The Big Flea will take place across the street from the church in the Stone House, 31 Cascade Road, located two miles north of the Merritt Parkway (Route 15) in North Stamford, Connecticut.

The Big Flea is still accepting donations to sell, and applications from vendors wishing to sell their products. The church is also seeking assistance from local businesses and professionals to donate their generous services, time or funds. This year, Stamford-based moving company Warner's Delivery and Transportation are offering their moving services. Adopt-a-Dog, a dog and cat rescue sanctuary organization serving New York and Connecticut, has also teamed up with The Big Flea to sell items to support their organization.
