  • (1888PressRelease) July 19, 2012 - This year's theme: Flip Like You Mean It! Gymfinity Gymnastics of Fitchburg, WI was proud to have 18 athletes representing Wisconsin at this year's competition. USTA Nationals consist of four events: Trampoline, Tumbling, Double Mini Trampoline, and Synchronized Trampoline. Kirsten Queoff and Karina Hernandez were representing Gymfinity TNT as Wisconsin's first synchro-pair to ever compete at a USTA Nationals competition. These girls have not only had to train hard to get their individual routines developed and perfected, but they also had to really learn about each other to develop their timing together. It's a fantastic friendship and bond as they compete against each other in their individual routines, but then compete together for their synchro-routine.

Gymfinity trampoline coach, and former National Trampolinist, Robin Jensen leads them in their new challenge. "I am really proud of the hard work the girls have displayed getting ready for synchro. They are both exceptional athletes and I think they will see all their extra hours in the gym pay off at Nationals." It sure did! They were able to stand on the podium in 9th place! Competing synchronized trampoline is quite an honor because it's only allowed at the higher levels. Every athlete representing Gymfinity TNT, currently holds the title of State Champion on at least one of the three main events in their respective age group and skill levels.

Wisconsin athletes were up against many other State Champions from gyms and clubs from a wide range of states. Gymfinity TNT provides athletes from a wide variety of communities including its surrounding location of Fitchburg, but also brings in athletes from Middleton, Mt. Horeb, Oregon, Waunakee and Edgerton. These athletes train 1-3 days per week for 2.5 hours per day, and range in ages from 6-16 years old. Members of the team are not only driven athletes, but many of them compete/train in multiple sports, excel in academics, and are involved with various music programs while still training Tumbling and Trampoline. They set goals, and aspirations and have their own set of role models.

Many of these athletes not only met their goals, but exceeded them! T&T athletes are awarded "flight awards" for their competing group and "final awards" for their entire age division. Gymfinity came home with 26 podium positions (trophies) in 50 events competed! Ian Ganshert, age 12, was even able to come home as a National Champion, taking first for his tumbling efforts! Second place final awards were achieved by Samantha Seymour (tumbling), Zach Heidenreich (double-mini and trampoline), Anna Crow (double-mini), Lanie Butler (double mini), Ian Ganshert (double-mini). Third place final awards are held by Danny Keyes (double-mini, trampoline and tumbling!), Natalie Ganshert (double-mini), Owen Orkowski (tumbling).

The hopes and dreams of young T&T athletes aren't any different than any other athlete, they just want to do their best, and get out there and win! Thousands of athletes from all over the United States competed at this event, the top 10 athletes from each state, event, and age division earned this honor to compete. Gymfinity was privileged to have all of their athletes qualify on all their events. They all had a great time being with their families, friends and team-mates, and having their hard work pay-off. Who knows what the future holds for any of the athletes next year during their quest to "win it" at USTA Nationals in Ft. Lauderdale, FL…but one thing is sure…they will put in the hard-work and dedication to get there!
