  • (1888PressRelease) July 03, 2015 - LIVERPOOL, UNITED KINGDOM - As part of its "telecoms engine for the Internet of Things and connected devices", the Telecoms Cloud API today adds inbound fax to its feature set, exposing via REST API the existing inbound fax functionality of the Telecoms Cloud network, which has been trusted by businesses of all size for their critical day-to-day operations since 1997.

Telecoms Cloud Limited today announced the official launch of its highly-anticipated Inbound Fax API, opening up their platform to a new audience of software developers, system integrators and new reseller opportunities, as well as increasing functionality for their impressive existing customer base.

Telecoms Cloud CEO, Paul Freeman-Powell, said, "We're really excited by this launch and are looking forward to more rapid growth in the coming months which will further strengthen our market position and increase the value of Telecoms Cloud. Now, software developers using any system, environment or programming language can fully integrate Telecoms Cloud's 256bit-encrypted fax receiving service into their applications via the REST API and a few simple lines of code."

Like their existing users comprising large blue-chip organisations, NHS trusts, councils, hospitals and pharmacies who make use of the service via email and secured web interface, new users of the API can also take advantage of a secure, fully-featured and highly-available redundant fax service built on a network with equipment in every major BT trunk exchange in the UK, meaning infrastructure is located close to customers whilst having complete resilience with distributed infrastructure spread around the country. Taking advantage of BT's huge fibre network as a backbone, over 3,500 lines are available at any one time, making Telecoms Cloud's Fax API an obvious choice for high-volume transactions ensuring customers never experience an engaged tone.

The core (non-telephony) infrastructure which powers the Telecoms Cloud is contained in multiple energy-efficient data centres around the EU, with a PUE of 1.35, all of which hold full ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, OHSAS 18001 and PCI/DSS compliance whilst also fully complying with the EU code of conduct for data centres. This enables Telecoms Cloud to offer secure fax storage, for anything up to 35 years, helping clients to comply with regulations such as Data Protection, Information Governance, Safe Harbour, Caldicott principles and HIPAA.

Customers of Telecoms Cloud enjoy a reliable service protected by SLA, made possible by a high-performance and redundant IP network backed up by a total upstream connectivity of over 10Gbps provided by six different Tier 1 providers (Level3, Deutsche Telekom, Interoute, PCCW-BTN, Telia and Tiscali) and a further 6Gbps of connectivity to LINX, LoNAP, SFINX, DEC-IX & AMS-IX.

    About Telecoms Cloud Limited
Telecoms Cloud was founded in 2012 by its current owners, Matt Wilson and Paul Freeman-Powell. As a "telecoms engine for the Internet of Things", The Telecoms Cloud is an API-driven platform which gives software developers a toolbox to incorporate telecoms functionality within their applications, using the Telecoms Cloud's infrastructure rather than their own hardware and independent network agreements.

Telecoms Cloud also operates a number of autonomous branded websites, accessible by customers with a single account username and password, which showcase some of the possibilities brought about by the API. These include Crosby Fax and Free Fax to Email, the free and paid-for Internet fax services, as well as Record Your Call which allows recording of incoming and outgoing phone calls without the need for extra equipment or mobile apps.
