  • Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) June 13, 2012 - As part of its 10 Months of Thanks initiative, Tekcetera, Inc. teamed up with Veterans First, the only nonprofit agency in Orange County to provide housing and support services to at-risk veterans and their families, by donating $500 to kick off Veterans First second annual Stand Down event. Known for its dedication to doing what it takes to provide comprehensive and cost-effective technology services to businesses small and large, Tekcetera launched its 10 Months of Thanks initiative as a way to give back and say thank you to the Orange County community that has supported it for the last decade. Throughout the next six months, the Tekcetera team will be found participating in beach cleanups, offering free computer training workshops, sending care packages to military troops and much more.

The three-day Stand Down event, scheduled for Aug.17 through Aug. 19 at the Reserve Training Center in Costa Mesa, Calif., will give homeless and at-risk veterans a place to go and receive basic social services from a variety of community and government agencies at no cost. Support services will include: medical, dental and vision exams; mental health and substance abuse counseling; veteran and social security benefits identification and assistance; employment and housing assistance; legal and homeless court assistance and children's services. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive hot showers, clothing, food and bedding. In 2011, more than 150 homeless and at-risk veterans attended the first Stand Down event. This year, Veterans First expects its annual event to garner between 250 and 300 attendees.

"Our team is both honored and humbled to work with Veterans First," said John S. Pitts, founder and president, Tekcetera, Inc. "Being able to assist in providing basic services to those who have fought for our country is incredibly rewarding. It is so easy to take the simple things for granted. Supporting Veterans First and the Stand Down event has given us the opportunity to give back and give thanks to the veterans in our community."

For the last decade, Tekcetera, Inc. has provided reliable, cost-effective infrastructure solutions, cloud services, managed IT services, Microsoft specialty consulting, Avaya and Cisco telecommunications, web design, ecommerce solutions and more to businesses throughout Orange County. The Santa Ana-based technology company is celebrating its 10-year milestone anniversary by giving thanks. The company's 10 Months of Thanks initiative will culminate at a hosted reception during the month of November, appropriately around the Thanksgiving holiday.
