Sunrise CEO Receives Top Honors From San Diego County Apartment Association
Joe Greenblatt Lauded with Industry Achievement Award.

Greenblatt, president/CEO of San Diego-based Sunrise Management, was honored with the San Diego County Apartment Association's Industry Achievement Award at its Mark of Excellence Awards event - which annually recognizes excellence and leadership in the rental housing industry - held Friday, November 22, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
Recently elected president of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Greenblatt was honored for his leadership and for making an important impact on the apartment industry through various industry contributions.
As president/CEO of Sunrise, Greenblatt oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, including a portfolio of more than 12,000 resident units throughout California and the southwest, and 350 employees located in San Diego and Sacramento, Calif.; Tempe, Ariz.; and Las Vegas, Nev., offices. He has been involved in the acquisition, lease-up and management of income producing multifamily properties since 1984 and joined Sunrise in 1989, climbing the company ranks from property manager to vice president and executive vice president.
Active both professionally and in the community, Greenblatt has long been affiliated with IREM - an international organization of real estate managers - at the national level. He is a member of IREM's national faculty, has served as chairman of its national Ethics Hearing and Discipline, and as an IREM senior vice president with oversight for IREM's educational programs and activities. Additionally, he is the recipient of two of IREM national's service awards, the IREM "Key Award" in September 1993, and its "Past President's Award "in 1996.
In addition, Greenblatt is a member of the board of the non-profit Bobby Jo Lewis Foundation, the National Apartment Association (NAA) and NAA's San Diego Chapter. He also serves on the Real Estate Committee, an advisory group at the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at the University of San Diego and is a long-time member of the San Diego County Apartment Association - previously serving as a board member. He has also served on the board of directors of the California Apartment Association, the San Diego CCIM chapter and as a trustee of the California Apartment Association PAC.
