  • (1888PressRelease) July 28, 2011 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam is set to launch its dynamic roadshow from July 25-29 to promote the Indo-china region as a leading MICE and leisure destination. The roadshow will be held across three cities - Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, featuring over 21 Starwood hotels & resorts represented by sales associates and senior management from properties in Bangkok, Phuket, Khao Lak, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Nha Trang, Hanoi and Saigon.

    On this sales and marketing mission, the team plans to visit tourism organization, top wholesalers and corporate companies across all market segments to underline the beauty of the destinations as well as introducing new brands and properties in the region. At the same time, Australian travel industry leaders will be invited to embark on a culinary journey with a special cooking class at St James Cooking School to explore the flavor of exotic Thai and healthy Vietnamese cuisines.

    Over the past year, Starwood has opened 20 new hotels across all its brands in Asia, which have included the introduction of three of its brands in Thailand. These include the W Retreat Koh Samui; the Four Points by Sheraton Bangkok, Sukhumvit 15; and the St. Regis Bangkok. In October 2011, Starwood will introduce its newest brand in Bangkok, the Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11, making Thailand the second market in Asia Pacific to have the representation of eight out of nine Starwood hotel brands. In addition, Starwood's first hotel in Thailand: Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, which originally opened in 1983, recently completed a major renovation that includes its guestrooms, public areas and restaurants.

    Starwood currently operates 21 hotels in Indo-china, including seven Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, two Westin Hotels & Resorts, seven Le Méridien hotels, one Four Points by Sheraton hotel, one W hotel, one Luxury Collection hotel and the recent St Regis Bangkok. By 2015, eight new properties will come online in Thailand and one in Vietnam.
