    State Governor Rodrigo Medina de la Cruz delivered the Medal to twelve exemplary citizens, selected for their distinguished actions in public, private, social, cultural, athletic and professional activities. Blanca Treviño was recognized for her longstanding professional commitment to the IT industry for the past 20 years, with particular regard to her achievement transforming Latin America's leading IT services company, Softtek, into a global industry leader.

    From 1986 to date, four hundred and seventeen people have been accredited the Medal of Civic Merit from the Government of Nuevo León in Mexico. Out of this number, one hundred and four have been women. This year marks the 25th anniversary of this award.
