  • (1888PressRelease) June 11, 2013 - Peoria, IL - Simformotion™ LLC - a leader in heavy equipment simulator development - is proud to announce that it has selected Caleb C. Amundson for the 2013-2014 Cat® Simulators Scholarship. The winner receives a $2,000 scholarship to support the pursuit of a heavy equipment-related career.

    Applications were accepted from students enrolled in an accredited heavy equipment-related program at an institution that utilizes Cat Simulators as part of their training program or curriculum. Amundson, a 2013 graduate of Fairbury Jr. Sr. High School, Neb., will be attending North Central Kansas Technical College, Kan., and enrolled in the Heavy Equipment Operation program.

    Amundson was active in classes at school; team captain for both basketball and football; and also active in his local FFA chapter (Future Farmers of America). Teachers and community leaders alike, speak highly of Amundson's talents and accomplishments. He participated in the FFA chapter at his school for four years, and qualified for state competition in welding (Arc and MIG).

    Amundson plans to return to his home state of Neb. after college to promote agriculture. He shares, "I have been influenced greatly by agriculture and plan to go into heavy equipment operations because I will get the chance to build terraces and construct feed lots, and also build irrigation and waste ponds."

Whether it is machine operator, mining engineer, agriculture construction, or any career in between, the need for skilled professionals is ever-present. We will promote and reward the young people attending these programs through the Cat Simulators scholarship."
