  • Ventura, CA (1888PressRelease) March 14, 2012 - Shelter Hope Pet Shop, Janss MarketPlace and Regency Theaters will welcome hundreds of movie-goers coming to see "Smitty", the film about a lovable rescue dog. TriCoast Worldwide Films will hold their Charity Red Carpet Theatrical Premier on Thursday March 22, 2012 at Janss MarketPlace in Thousand Oaks, California. Proceeds from the event will support Shelter Hope Pet Shop.

    The film is about a loveable mutt named Smitty and a mischievous thirteen-year-old boy named Ben, who is sent to his grandfather's farm for the summer. With help from the unlikely canine companion, Ben learns the importance of friendship, family and responsibility. The movie stars Peter Fonda, Mira Sorvino, Louis Gossett, Jr, Booboo Stewart, Brandon Tyler Russell, Jason London, and Lolita Davidovitch. Directed by David Mickey Evans, Screenplay by Michael Baumgarten, and Produced by Marcy Levitas Hamilton and Michael Baumgarten.

    The Red Carpet event will include a Charity Auction organized by Riley's Rescue, an animal adoption, VIP Party at Sunset Terrace Grill and concert by the band, "The Way Up", singing their song, "Low Tide Louis" from the movie, and other tunes from their new album.

    "The Way Up" band members Alexander Sill (Guitar), Bobby Victor (Keyboards), Caliber Cleveland (Drums), Daniel Zuker (Bass), and Zoe Jackson (Vocals) have donated their efforts to help homeless animals. The band plans to continue creating awareness and social change with their music. Alex Sill wrote, arranged, co-produced and played guitar on the song, "Low Tide Louis".

    Shelter Hope Pet Shop, a non-profit organization staffed and managed by Bark Avenue Foundation, showcases dogs and rabbits available for on-site adoption at Janss MarketPlace in Thousand Oaks, California. Shelter Hope Pet Shop provides a unique pet boutique atmosphere, where volunteers offer community outreach and education and help find loving new families for homeless companion animals.
