  • (1888PressRelease) January 22, 2013 - Acclaimed artist and Grammy nominated songwriter Seth Glier is set to head off on a nationwide tour in support of his breathtaking upcoming release, "Things I Should Let You Know" slated to hit via MPress Records on February 5th. Kicking off in Ann Arbor at The Ark on January 11th, Seth will zigzag across the country including a stop at SXSW before wrapping the tour in Maine this April. With well over 250 shows a year under this troubadour's belt, Seth, a national spokesperson for Autism Speaks has teamed up with the not-for-profit to raise awareness and funds. Seth will also be performing a very special StageIt concert on January 15th where 100% of the proceeds will go to Autism Speaks.

In the months leading up to April (Autism Awareness Month), Seth will speak openly at every stop on the tour about his personal connection with autism and will provide his fans with an easy way to contribute via his personal fundraising page. Every donor will receive an exclusive video file, which includes never before seen live performance footage of music from "Things I Should Let You Know". Seth has set a $5000 donation goal for the tour; if he reaches his goal by the end of March he will perform a free streaming concert on April 2nd, National Autism Awareness Day.

Seth has a very personal connection with Autism Speaks: "my older brother, Jamie is autistic. He's 27 years old and non-verbal, so I have been exposed to autism and its effects on a family my whole life. I want this tour to help spread awareness about autism, to raise the funds that help organizations like Autism Speaks, to make life an easier place for those living with autism, and above all to celebrate and promote inclusion and equality for autistic individuals and their families."

Since first signing with MPress Records at the age of 19, Seth has gone from opening act to headlining his own shows and playing major folk festivals. He's shared the stage with artists as diverse as James Taylor, Ani DiFranco, Martin Sexton, Emmylou Harris and Ryan Adams and has quickly become known for his passionate live sets. His music has also caught the ears of fans, industry and critics alike with USA Today stating that his "exquisite tenor echoes Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel." The incredible acclaim on his sophomore record, "The Next Right Thing", led to the single "Lauralee" hitting #1 on Clear Channel's NEW! Discover & Uncover program as well as a Grammy nomination, a first for both himself and his New York based label, MPress Records.
