Security Systems Association of Singapore to lead some 20 Singapore manufacturers and distributors to participate at inaugural Myanmar Security Expo

  • (1888PressRelease) July 25, 2015 - Yangon, Myanmar - Demand for security products and solutions will grow as the economy of Myanmar starts to power up, foreign investments begin flowing in, and more and more developments going underway. Myanmar Security Expo which will be happening this September in Yangon, aims to serve the industry by providing a business platform for the security community to gather and learn about the latest technologies.

    Companies in Singapore are excited about the vast business opportunities in Myanmar.     SSAS will be leading the Singapore Pavilion to participate in the inaugural Myanmar Security Expo 2015. Supported by IE Singapore with its International Marketing Activities Programme (iMAP), some 20 companies will showcase their latest products and innovative solutions to address security challenges faced in Myanmar and the Indochinese markets.

    Myanmar is poised for huge economic growth in the years ahead, driven by a few sectors that include energy and mining, agriculture, manufacturing and infrastructure - together they account for over 85 percent of the country's total economic potential. The report forecasted its economy could quadruple to about US$200 billion in 2030 from US$45 billion in 2010. [Source: McKinsey Global Institute] These critical infrastructures require security solutions to secure their plants and premises.

    It is timely for the launch of Myanmar Security Expo which serves as a gateway for companies in Singapore to explore the potential of this up and coming market.

    One of the companies participating within the Singapore Pavilion is D-RON Singapore Pte Ltd, a solution-centric company which provides consultancy on solutions as a valued added service for various projects. Ivan Tan, Deputy Director, Product & Technology at D-RON Singapore Pte Ltd, said, "D-RON sees the rising opportunities in Myanmar, especially in the IT communications and infrastructure sectors.     Another Singapore company, ASIS Technologies will take part in Myanmar Security Expo 2015 for the first time to showcase intelligent, multi- door controllers and system solutions suited for enterprise security. According to Mr Lu Tan Fong, Chief Executive Officer, "ASIS Technologies is an early entrant to the Myanmar market and with electronic security solutions currently implemented at the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport and the Yangon International Airport."

    Myanmar Security Expo will also feature key players from all over the world, in the area of data security, surveillance system, biometrics systems and smartcard system. Among some 70 international exhibitors who will be leveraging on the expo to showcase their latest technologies is Hikvision, a leading manufacturer of surveillance systems from China.

    "Myanmar and the region pose great business potential for us. The upcoming developments such as new airports, industrial parks, and telecommunications exchange will require surveillance systems, and Hikvision is a market leader in CCTV and video surveillance."
