  • (1888PressRelease) July 01, 2016 - Second novel in Turning series entitled UPSIDE DOWN by Janet Ollerenshaw is published, About the Book: "In the blink of an eye, anything can be turned upside down."

Timothy is an enigmatic, independent child who suffers from 'petit mal', a mild form of epilepsy. During these episodes, he appears in other places and other times and is able to comfort and help those who are suffering in some way. He is guided by spiritual mentors and it is clear that there is a purpose to his life.

Touching on aspects of reincarnation, spirituality, and the inevitable chaos factor, acceptance of Timothy's truth may mean that everything is turned "Upside Down".

    About the Author:
Janet Ollerenshaw is a retired English & Music teacher and mother of seven children. She has lived in Hertfordshire for most of her life and has been involved with Scouting, animals and arts and crafts alongside her teaching career. She writes for pleasure and enjoys word-craft, so her writing can be prosaic at times as she feels the experience of reading should be more than just a good story, rather like a fine wine, which touches senses other than simply taste and satisfaction and which lasts the test of time.

Janet has a Masters in Educational Research from Cambridge and studied with the Open University for her first Degree in Humanities with Music and English Language. She does seasonal work as an exam marker for Edexcel and for the Cambridge International Exam board. Janet is currently writing the third novel in the Turning series which is entitled Back to Front.

    Excerpt from the Book:
"First came the tears. Involuntarily they coursed down his cheeks in silent rivulets and he made no attempt to brush them aside but cried unashamedly. Self-pity, delayed shock, overwhelming despair and panic at the thought of what next all combined to drown him in suicidal depression. But this emotional reaction did not last and soon the tears became those of frustration and anger. Anger at his weakness, anger at his situation, anger at his overbearing and often absent father, anger at his weak and self-absorbed mother, at his 'oh so clever' brother, at the medics, the doctors and even at Nurse Isabella who sat silently at his bedside, stroking his hand and nodding wisely as his outpouring of grief washed through him and carried out its necessary catharsis."
