The article, “What Is Professional Negligence?” discussed how negligence arises when a professional fails to perform his, her or its duties pursuant to the accepted standards in the field, resulting in harm to a client.
Inglis highlighted examples of professional negligence that can occur every day, such as an accountant giving incorrect advice or a lawyer missing a filing deadline. These situations, while sometimes unintentional, can still lead to serious consequences for clients.
