  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2012 - Bucks County law firm Curtin & Heefner LLP is proud to announce the addition of two partner-level attorneys to its firm. Samuel C. Totaro, Jr., will be based in the firm's Doylestown, Pa., office while Herbert K. Sudfeld, Jr., will work out of the firm's Morrisville office location.

    Mr. Totaro is an accomplished attorney in the fields of adoption litigation and family law. He has participated in more than 4,000 adoptions, representing birth parents, adoptive parents and adoption agencies. He also served as lead counsel in a Supreme Court case that has been cited by more than 20 state Supreme Courts across the country as controlling law in adoption.

    Mr. Totaro was appointed by former Governor Tom Ridge to the committee to revise Pennsylvania's adoption code and was a recipient of distinguished service awards from the National Council For Adoption, Washington, D.C. and the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys. He has appeared as a guest on the NBC Nightly News, Good Morning America and the TODAY Show, among others - for his knowledge in adoption litigation and other areas of adoption law.

    A graduate of the University of Memphis School of Law and Ursinus College, Mr. Totaro is chair of the board of directors of the Silver Springs - Martin Luther School in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., a private residential treatment facility for emotionally disturbed and challenged children.

    Mr. Sudfeld has an established real estate practice which includes the representation of both land owners and developers throughout Bucks County. He has experience counseling restaurant and large-scale shopping center owners, as well as tenants with purchasing, leasing and liquor license applications. Mr. Sudfeld represents financial institutions and commercial lenders handling all aspects of loan documentation. He provides counsel to clients involved with oil and gas leasing of Marcellus Shale and Utica Shale, and is a frequent lecturer on this topic.

    An active member of the Bucks County community, Mr. Sudfeld serves on the executive board of the Bucks County Council of the Boy Scouts of America and on the board of trustees for Tabor Services, Inc., a provider of foster home counseling and placement. He is a graduate of New York Law School and Villanova University.
