  • (1888PressRelease) December 21, 2012 - Magenta's Lynx solution optimizes and manages the master network of collection routes and customer locations, creates day-to-day plans of vehicle to collection route allocations and deals with unexpected events - providing considerable savings in mileage, improving specialist vehicle utilization and integrating work of front and back office operations. The solution also continuously monitors movements, activities and statuses of vehicles and crews, enabling Rosinkass to be in full control of their fleet, ensuring safer operations and better customer service.

The Lynx solution is based on Magenta's MaxOptra scheduling and track&trace platform used in a variety of industry specific implementations including distribution scheduling, own and 3rd party haulier management for 3PL and 4PL providers, real-time scheduling of courier and taxi services and some other areas of logistics.

Highly customised for cash-in-transit industry, Lynx provides functional modules for collection routes master plan optimisation, dynamic real-time scheduling and GPS Tracking. The system automatically builds an optimised master plan of routes based on collection locations, aiming to minimise the mileage and with regard to the traffic rules and parking requirements, and ensuring higher security of operations. The network of routes, depots and collection points are clearly visualized for the operator on a map with related KPIs (like driving and idle times, CSLs, costs and risks) and indication of free capacity - allowing manually rework or add new routes. The dynamic scheduling module then uses the master plan to automatically create daily plans of vehicle to route allocations, in real time adjusting it to unexpected events like new or cancelled collections, changes in collection times etc.

The Track&Trace module of Lynx allows Rosinkass to effectively monitor their fleet of vehicles on routes in real time, collecting details like driver location, mileage, speed, heading, ignition status, and automatically compare planned versus actuals. Any violations of the security rules or unexpected behaviour of the vehicle - like unlocked door, turned off engine or unexpected positioning of the vehicle - are immediately registered and flagged to the operator, resulting in safer operations and improved customer service levels.

Lynx has been in operational use at 2 regional branches of Rosinkass for a year now, immediately helping increase the quality of day-to-day planning, therefore reducing the number of routes by 12% while cutting the transportation costs by 10%. The automation of daily routine operations allowed Rosinkass to considerably decrease the manual workload and process time. Lynx' GPS tracking enabled the company to take operations security and efficiency to the next level, enabling excellent customer service. The system also features a comprehensive management reports module that provides information on expenses, volume of collection, revenues, customers etc. On top of it, the system delivered by Magenta provides an invaluable input in work of sales and marketing teams of the company by allowing them to add new potential customers' locations, model the new route network and evaluate new opportunities based on the resulting KPIs.

Sergey Mamayev, General Manager of the Samara Regional Branch of Rosinkass Cash-in-Transite company, commented, "Magenta managed to deliver an essential operational tool that this industry was hungry for some time now. Having Lynx up and running, we are only getting more ideas on where to go further. Magenta Technology proved to be a reliable, robust and listening technology partner who supported and boosted innovation in our work and thought process, and we see them as a strategic partner in delivering Rosinkass' business development plan."
