Rucksack Inn Selects ANTlabs IG 3100 To Manage Their Guest Network
Rucksack Inn guarantees High Speed Internet Access to its guests with the help of IG 3100.
- (1888PressRelease) December 17, 2013 - SINGAPORE - Rucksack Inn, a multiple award-winning backpackers inn in Singapore, has chosen ANTlabs IG 3100 to manage bandwidth and account provisioning in their two locations, Hong Kong St. and Temple St.
"Rucksack Inn is a trendsetter. We're the first to offer 24-hour reception, all-day breakfast and we were the first backpackers inn to offer free WiFi," said Jacquelyn Chan, the General Manager of Rucksack Inn. "It wasn't the norm back then for hostels to offer these. We've offered free WiFi since we opened in 2009. Now, travellers who've been to Rucksack Inn expect free WiFi in all backpackers inns in Singapore."
Rucksack Inn previously only gives a shared WPA key to their guests so they can connect to the Internet. This resulted into a slow, intermittent connection since there was no form of bandwidth management with only an access point in place.
"Sometimes there would be no Internet connection at all when everyone is trying to connect at the same time. " Ms. Chan added. "So far, it's been a good two months of using the IG 3100. Our WiFi connectivity has improved."
IG 3100 is a full-featured Internet gateway that was created for small properties such as hostels. It features Two-Tier QoS that lets property managers assign users to Premium and Complimentary tiers to encourage fair use among users. Bandwidth would be allocated accordingly to the users, depending on the tier they are on.The gateway was deployed in October 2013 through Datagemini.Sierra Pte. Ltd., an ANTlabs partner.
