  • (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2012 - Ogden, UT - This week, RPM Revenue Drivers teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of Ogden to help clean up the Ogden City Cemetery. Around 60 people were present-30 RPM employees, including many of the company's executives, and over 30 members of the Boys and Girls Club.

The participants were split up into groups to allow the RPM employees to interact with the kids, and they participated in raking and removing pine needles and other garbage, cleaning and leveling the headstones, and otherwise caring for the cemetery. This was done to provide a more positive experience for those who visit the cemetery. They were there for several hours, and made a significant difference in the overall appearance of the cemetery.

After the cleanup, the RPMers played a few games with the kids from the Club in order to help them open up and see the importance of having direction in life. Jane Meikle, Community Service Involvement Coordinator, said of the event: "The effort of RPM was incredible. It was so great seeing the young people participate in such a worthy cause." Jeanne Hall, member of the Boys and Girls Club board, said: "It was truly a blessing for me and all the Boys & Girls Club teens to be with them today."

This event was organized to help Ogden City, but also to provide an opportunity for the girls and boys to see positive role models and help motivate them to finish school and attend college. Joseph Herath, Project Consultant at RPM, said, "I felt like they really opened up and were sharing each others' experiences, and we were able to get a lot of work done."

This is one of several community service projects RPM Revenue Drivers has participated in recently. To view pictures of this and other events, visit http://www.1rpm.us/index.php/gallery.
