  • (1888PressRelease) May 21, 2013 - Rockwell Automation, the world's largest company dedicated to industrial automation and information, announced its participation at Oil & Gas Asia 2013 (OGA 2013), the 14th Asian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Engineering Exhibition, with Sedia Teguh Sdn Bhd serving as the exclusive representative for Rockwell Automation's oil and gas business in Malaysia. This exhibition will be held on 5 - 7 June 2013 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Rockwell Automation's campaign theme during OGA 2013 is "Redefining Operational Excellence and Reducing Risk with Applied Automation", as many companies in the oil and gas industry are looking to discover safe and innovative ways to mitigate risk, optimise performance and achieve operational excellence. "The first place to address facility risk - operational efficiency and safety - is through applied automation systems. Traditional approaches to control often involve a large data network that is run at a speed the system server can handle. To help assure applied automation systems address the requirements, consideration must be given to how the process systems and subsystems interact, and then consider the response times required to contain catastrophic events or temporary control hysteresis within the affected system or subsystem," said Derek Goh, Manager, Oil & Gas Rockwell Automation Southeast Asia. "Operational excellence and applied automation can help mitigate the risk of propagating errors across subsystems through the efficient secure design of automation systems."

At the exhibition, Rockwell Automation will showcase its Integrated Information, Control, Power & Safety (Integrated ICPS) solutions for optimised operational performance and reduced risks resulting in maximised productivity, lowered total cost of ownership and lifecycle expenses, and increased safety.

Established in 1987 as OGM, OGA was rebranded in 2003, and is today Asia's largest and most comprehensive oil, gas and petrochemical industry event, where vendors gather to showcase the latest related technology, equipment and machinery. OGA 2011 attracted over 1,500 exhibitors from 45 countries and more than 20,000 trade visitors, whilst this year these numbers are expected to grow to 1,700 exhibitors from more than 50 countries attracting 22,000 trade visitors. This biennial event is a vital networking platform for exhibitors and trade visitors to discuss market trends and industry strategies, as well as developments in exploration and production.
