  • Columbus, OH (1888PressRelease) April 15, 2015 - To help with the fundraising the committee has decided to bring in Richard Marx for a concert on June 13, 2015. Richard Marx will be starting his show at 7:30 p.m., in the Logan High School Theater. The doors will open for seating at 6:30 p.m. that night.

Singer, songwriter, musician and producer Richard Marx has made history with a string of indelible hits that span both radio-ready rock tunes like "Don't Mean Nothing" and "Should've Known Better," and stirring romantic ballads like "Hold Onto the Nights" and "Right Here Waiting." The Chicago native has sold more than 30 million albums and scored a total of 14 no. 1 singles. He is the only male solo artist to have his first seven singles reach the Top 5 on the Billboard charts. Quite simply, Marx has created the soundtrack to the most memorable moments in people's lives. "I have written songs that are incredibly romantic - songs that people play at their weddings or that are playing when their kids were born," Marx says. "They have traditionally dealt with the highest concept of forever."

Dorothy Kalklosch was a member of the Logan-Hocking School District Board of Education for more than 14 years so holding the concert in the Logan High School Theater also makes this concert special. She was also an active member of the community with her service in the 4-H program, Grange, D.A.R., the American Legion and her church.

Arthur (Art) Kalklosch was a farmer all his life and he continued farming until he was 90 years old. He did take three and a half years off when he was enlisted in the United States Army during WWII. Art was an active member of the St. Matthew Lutheran church when he passed away at the age of 95. He was a member of the Mingo Lodge and Hocking Grange, both for more than 50 years.

"Three years ago Jim and Sheila Kalklosch saw Richard Marx at the Midland Theater, in Newark," George explained. "They knew at that time they wanted to bring Richard Marx to Logan for a benefit concert. They loved the show and wanted to share it with the Richard Marx fans around central and southeastern Ohio." "Jim Kalklosch came to me the other day and said he was so excited about this concert," Kidder said. "We have been working on this idea for over a year now and it is finally coming to fruition. "

The Dorothy and Arthur Kalklosch Scholarships Fund has never taken on a project this big, George said. They have had raffles, concession stands, arts and crafts shows but nothing as big bringing in a national entertainer for a concert.

Tickets are being sold online at ticketleap and at Flowers by Darlene in Logan, Ohio.
