  • (1888PressRelease) September 17, 2019 - Eid literally means a “feast” or “festival” in Arabic. According to the Islamic calendar, two Eids - Eid al-Fitr earlier in the year and Eid al-Adha later are celebrated. Eid al-Fitr is a three day smaller festival known as the “Smaller Eid”, while Eid al-Adha is a longer four-day long festival known as the “Greater Eid”. Both the Eids recognize and celebrate two distinct and significant events of Islam. Eid al-Fitr is the “feast of breaking the fast” which is celebrated at the end of the Holy month of Ramadan.

Eid al-Adha is the “feast of sacrifice” in honour of the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience on God’s command. This Eid comes at the end of the holy pilgrimage ‘Hajj’.

At RGIT, we provide both quality training and education along with various celebrations to bridge the cultural gap. One of the ways to do this is by celebrating various festivals. The childcare students not only learn about early childhood and care but also about community services.
