  • (1888PressRelease) March 10, 2011 - Body-worn video recorders, also referred to as bodycams, are small video cameras that lone workers wear attached to their jackets. A couple of years ago very few people had heard of Body-Worn Video, but now it's used in many situations from police to personal security to civil enforcement.

Reveal Media's technology comes under the HOSDB categories of 'Security' and 'Crime and Policing'. It will exhibit for the whole length of the HOSDB exhibition, which runs from 22-24 March. A range of products will be in the stand for anyone to examine and try out. These will include the CARMACAM RS2 and all-in-one management unit CARMA KIOSK.

The CARMACAM RS2 is a body-worn video recorder. It has proven safety benefits for lone workers, more so than some of its competitors. Conference attendees will notice that the CARMACAM RS2 has a distinctive public-facing screen. Trials suggest body-worn video reduces incidents by 20%, but the CARMACAM RS2 with its screen on show is proven to reduce abuse towards lone workers by up to 30%. This product was also voted the best in its field for ease of application during a recent trial in Glasgow. It was also decided the CARMACAM RS2 was the best presented device. The hardy leather all-in-one unit seals away wires and protects against knocks.

The CARMA KIOSK is a stand-alone unit that provides docking, charging and uploading for up to 16 body-worn video cameras. The touch screen docking station supports Reveal Media's evidence management software, CARMA, which people will also be able to use at the exhibit.

CARMA software provides a complete audit trail for data, which means that evidence cannot be tampered with and can be used in court. Users at the exhibit will find that video frames are tagged to retain evidence integrity.

Reveal Media is a leading Body-Worn Video Solutions provider and will be exhibiting at the HOSDB in stand A22 from Tuesday 22 March to Thursday 24 March. For more information or sources, please visit www.revealmedia.com, or e-mail claire ( @ ) revealmedia dot com.
