REDCOM Design & Construction Senior Vice President Guests On Construction Leadership Show

Sam Rockaway outlined the company's growth strategies and shared key insights on effective leadership
- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) May 16, 2025 - Sam Rockaway, Senior Vice President of Sales at REDCOM, was recently a guest on the ‘People-First Builders Podcast’. REDCOM Design & Construction specializes in commercial design-build engineering, architecture, and construction.
During an in-depth conversation with Host Fletcher Wimbush, Rockaway shared how the supportive team and empowering environment around him played a key role in his growth—and how he, in turn, contributed to REDCOM’s success. “We take projects from concept to completion…The team made it so easy for me…They would essentially teach me. They were motivated; they really allowed me to flourish.”
Additionally, Rockaway highlighted REDCOM’s strategic approach, which played a pivotal role in the company’s success and rapid growth. “We hired four to five coaches at the same time and they helped different departments. We went from two leads to one hundred leads pretty quickly.” He added, “We cultivated and documented a sales process, and when I hire someone new, I walk them through the sales process…We implemented all of that and monitored it and adjusted it along the way.”
In closing, Rockaway offered strategic guidance for peers across the industry. He stated, “Understand your overhead, your direct and indirect costs. In this industry, it's very important to understand that. I would also say documenting your sales process is another key task that should be done. Learning to say ‘no’ to prospects is okay. If we take the jobs that aren't right for us, we aren't able to take the jobs that are right for us.”
According to Ryan Teicher, REDCOM CEO, “Sam’s dedication to refining our sales process and mentoring others has played a major role in the company’s evolution and long-tern success. He sees his team as a true investment and is dedicated to their individual success as well as the company’s performance as a whole.”
