  • Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) March 27, 2012 - With the City of Newport Beach's official egg hunt canceled, Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is stepping up its annual event with its most ambitious undertaking in decades. The public is invited to the free egg hunt on Saturday, April 7 at 9 a.m. Set against pristine views of the Back Bay, more than 8,000 eggs (many filled with candy, cash & prizes) will be hidden on the west beach. The Easter Bunny will kick-off the hunt, which will be staggered into three age categories: 5 and under, 6-9, and 10 and up! In addition to the egg hunt families will enjoy:

    • Pancake Breakfast: Served from 9 a.m. to noon this Newport Dunes tradition includes a buffet of pancakes, juice and coffee. Adults: $12; Children under 12: $9.

    • Camp James Activities: A highlight of the day's festivities will be exciting rides and activities provided by Camp James including a rock wall and bounce house. Tickets for these activities can be found hidden in some eggs during the hunt.

    • Easter Crafts: For just $1, children may participate in creative Easter fun, designing windsocks, picture frames, bunny masks and other holiday-themed arts and crafts from 9am to 12 noon.

    Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is a 100-acre non-membership recreational area featuring a 386-site state-of-the-art RV park, 450-slip marina and a private waveless beach and playground that has been enjoyed by families since 1958. Newport Dunes is also is home to 24 mobile cottages that the public may rent. Visitors may rent kayaks, windsurfers, pedal boats, bicycles, and electric boats.
