Koi have been around for over 2500 years, plenty of time to build up a reputation. Besides their universal appeal as symbols of the beauty and the abundance of the natural world, Japanese Koi fish are thought to move smoothly and swiftly, able to leap barriers and obstacles. They symbolize power and perseverance in adversity, strength of purpose and determination. Many say they represent good
fortune or luck...the larger the Koi, the richer you are.
