The event was targeted to job seekers from both within and outside the college. The focus of the fair to assist job-seekers in areas such as searching new career options, forming strategies for job searches, dressing appropriately for interviews, and writing effective resumes, among other things. It was held between 12 pm and 6 pm, and was kept open to the general public with no fees charged for participation.

    The fair attracted a worthy participation from students of the college and outside visitors in search of work. The professional development resource fair was also attended by employees and agencies ranging from food giant Taco Bell Corporate to patient care homes such as Visiting Angels, Aspen House and Foothills Gateway. Others partakers included Compass Bank, United Way 211, Griggs Achievement Training & Retreat, Northwestern Mutual, and others. Breakout sessions on Emergency Medicine Career, Resume Writing, Networking, How to Dress for an Interview, and Cover Letters were also available sessions.

    The Professional Development Resource Fair resulted into a positive experience for employers, many of whom were hiring and even interviewed a few students, and job-seekers, who got an opportunity to submit applications and resumes for employment with some of the biggest companies in the area. Even CollegeAmerica benefited from the fair as it was able to develop a new business internship site with Northwestern Mutual.

    The event was mentioned in local newspapers such as Fort Collins Coloradoan and The Reporter Herald. The fair also received praises from Griggs Achievement Training, who complimented CollegeAmerica for organizing the event in such a manner. Griggs was so impressed that a few days later it planned its own fair on the campus.
