  • (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2014 - Taipei - For three consecutive lighting shows in Japan, Singapore and Taiwan, Aeon Lighting Technology Inc. (ALT)., has displayed its newest and most reliable F04 floodlight series (200W, 300W, 500W) powered by high-performance Cree® XT-E chip, which is capable of a remarkable bright-light output of up to 58,000 lumens. With the use of top-quality super-bright XT-E chips from Cree, ALTLED floodlights are a highly versatile solution for any application that requires a powerful outdoor luminaire.

"More and more we see the solid-state lighting (SSL) industry converging on the use of high-brightness LED solutions," said Peter Yau, APEC Senior Sales Director at Cree. "Power-efficient, cost-effective, maintenance-free, our XT-E series of LEDs fits the bill perfectly for floodlight applications, where high levels of luminance and accurate color rendering are all-important. We are very pleased that ALT, a market leader in SSL solutions, has selected our XT-E products for its new top-quality luminaires which answer the growing demand for floodlighting in a very wide range of outdoor applications."

The XT-E White LED from Cree typically delivers up to 148 lumens and 148 lumens per watt in cool white (6000 K) or up to 114 lumens and 114 lumens per watt in warm white (3000 K), both at 350 mA, 85°C. It delivers twice the lumens-per-dollar of other LEDs and features the highest performance in the industry. Based on a relatively new silicon-carbide platform, the XT-E LED represents a dramatic transformation in LED price-performance and addresses the largest obstacle to mass LED lighting adoption, initial cost.

The XT-E LED delivers exceptional performance in the popular 3.45mm x 3.45mm XP footprint and can be used for almost all lighting applications. By leveraging the XP footprint, customers can easily incorporate the XT-E LED in existing XP LED designs to shorten the LED fixture design cycle and improve customer time-to-market.

"We chose Cree's XT-E LEDs for our new outdoor luminaires for a number of reasons," said Baly Luo, General Manager of ALT. "Not only do Cree's LEDs deliver very high levels of luminance cost effectively, they are also robust, highly reliable and maintenance free. Outdoor floodlights have to withstand a variety of extreme environmental conditions, and we are more than satisfied that the Cree LEDs comply with a range of QA/QC requirements in this regard, delivering year-in, year-out performance for applications where productivity and security are paramount."

Fitted with the 500W F04 LED from Cree, the ALTLED® T500 floodlight replaces 800-1000W traditional halogen or high pressure sodium lamps. Currently, the 200-watt ALTLED floodlight also uses Cree's chip, as will the 300-watt model in the ALTLED® F04 floodlight series.
