Projects requiring extensions of enterprise apps to smartphone users on Android and iOS are already in the pipeline.

While this is its first big push into the enterprise mobility market, Pointwest already has a considerable track record in mobile. It developed and powered a mobile app for a large airline based in the United States. The app allows passengers to modify their itineraries straight from their smartphones. Pointwest also powered the first mobile-based, microfinance-focused savings bank in the Philippines.

In November last year, the company snagged a place on Globe Telecom's MobApp Hunt 2011. Globe is one of the biggest telecommunications company in the Philippines. Pointwest's entry to the contest was HookApp, a social networking app for hanging out and dating. It sifts through a user base to connect "seekers" with similar tastes. Pointwest will present its ramped-up mobile app services as one of its core offerings at this year's CeBIT in Hannover, Germany, from March 6 to 10. CeBIT is the world's largest trade show dedicated to the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry, with thousands of ICT firms showcasing their products and services. This is Pointwest's third time to join CeBIT.
