  • (1888PressRelease) May 16, 2018 - Pod Group, a provider of platforms, software and connectivity services for the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected enterprises has today announced that it has expanded its geographical presence into Central America, with the opening of two new offices in Leon, Mexico and Managua, Nicaragua. From these offices the company will serve the whole of Central America with its multi-network IoT connectivity and centralized management platform as well as offering its new hierarchical billing platform, designed to help companies generate recurring revenue from the IoT.

The new offices will add to Pod Group’s existing global offices in the UK, Spain and North America and build on the company’s long trajectory in the M2M/IoT space since its inception in 1999. Both of Pod Group’s specialist divisions, PodM2M, the global MVNO and Pod Solutions, the customized solutions arm of the company will be represented by local sales and support teams on the ground.

Following the initial establishment of the local offices, Pod Group has signed an agreement with SuKarne, the largest Mexican meat producer. The company will use PodM2M’s highly resilient multi-network solution in its connected devices to track and monitor goods as they are transported across borders.

Tomas Lomas Ríos, Senior Vice President of Asset Protection at SuKarne commented; “For us, the priority is to offer a product that meets quality regulations, so having reliable coverage that gives us visibility of our devices to guarantee the correct distribution of our product is extremely important. With PodM2M we don’t have to worry about coverage or changes in pricing as we cross borders, because they offer us a flat rate product across the whole of the Americas, from Nicaragua to the USA.”

Gerardo Trejo, Director of Business Development, Mexico, explained; “Pod’s agnostic connectivity is a perfect solution for companies with connected devices in remote locations or those that require connectivity across borders, since the SIMs automatically connect to the best signal and thereafter swap networks if signal is lost to ensure maximum uptime. This functionality, combined with Pod’s centralized management platform and hierarchical billing platform gives customers all the tools they need to manage their connected devices and create new subscription-based IoT services.”
