- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) October 13, 2026 - The Philadelphia indie drama Some Real Sugar Honey Ice Tea, now streaming on Prime Video, is building momentum through an unconventional strategy: its stars are promoting themselves to promote the film.
Writer-producer-star Eboni Ferguson and co-star Eternal Sincere have launched a coordinated 30-day personal branding campaign - new websites, professional emails, press kits, and targeted media outreach - designed to drive fresh audiences to the grassroots feature.
Written and produced by Ferguson, who also stars as Ayana opposite Sincere's Dom, the film is a Philly drama that has found its streaming home on Prime Video. A companion romance novel, Some Real Sugar Honey Ice Tea: A Philly Jawn, continues the story for readers.
"Most indie films die because nobody knows the people in them. We're flipping that. When people know who Eternal is and who I am, they want to see the film. It's grassroots - the same way we made the movie is the same way we're selling it: ourselves, our hustle, our city," said Ferguson.
