  • (1888PressRelease) October 24, 2013 - With the Q-Line, a brand-new series of entry-level Full HD signage displays by Philips will be launched. MMD, the brand license partner for Philips Signage Solutions presents four models with screen diagonals ranging from 32" to 55". Thanks to their Edge LED backlight configuration, the Q-Line models save around 40 % of energy in comparison to conventional CCFL products and allow for stylish presentations with their super-slim design. Equipped with the innovative SmartControl software, the new Q-Line models can easily be managed over their RJ45 and RS232 interfaces.

In addition to their long product lifespans, great features and affordable prices, the reduced energy consumption contributes to an excellent price performance ratio. Brilliant images combined with great connectivity and a wide array of playback options provide for a new level of convenience in digital signage even for inexperienced users.

    Impressive performance
The Q-Line models come in four sizes with screen diagonals of 32", 42", 46" and 55" (80, 106, 116 and 139 cm). Their ultra-slim design with panel depths ranging from 1.51" to 1.68" only (38.5 to 42.8 mm) allow for a sleek appearance which will greatly improve company presentations in lobbies and meeting rooms. In stores, products and other information can now be displayed with style and with great cost efficiency as well.

The Q-Line models offer an optimum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) at a 60 Hz refresh rate. For video playback, many other resolutions are supported, too. Utilising sophisticated AMVA (Advanced Multi-domain Vertical Alignment) and IPS (In-plane Switching) panel technology, the Q-Liners provide high contrasts, great viewing angles and exceptional colour stability. Their top-notch Edge LED configurations deliver an even spread of light while at the same time saving energy.

    Convenient control
The DLNA-certified displays come with numerous practical features, making it easy to set up contents and programme schedules - such as an HTML5 browser that is optimised for digital signage or an integrated multi-codec media player for playback from USB drives. The displays come also equipped with the SmartControl software suite, which enables users to conveniently manage the displays via an RJ45 or RS232 connection.

Streaming contents to the Q-Line models from external media players, cloud-based storage and mobile devices has never been easier. Last but not least, videos, pictures and sounds can be received from pen drives or hard drives via USB, too - the internal media player is capable of handling a multitude of video and audio codecs and containers. A 24 hour scheduling function offers users the possibility to mix contents from various signal sources to their liking by simply creating playlists.

    Eco-friendly and economic
Thanks to energy-saving LED technology, the displays consume 40 per cent less energy than regular CCFL displays, thus reducing the environmental impact as well as the electricity bill. The SmartPower function additionally allows energy savings by regulating the backlight intensity. They are produced mercury free and eco-sensitive materials as well as packaging are used. The average MTBF (mean time between failures) is expected to be at 50,000 hours. This corresponds to an average product lifetime of more than eight and a half years - when in use 16 hours per day. If the operating time is reduced to eight hours per day, the expected product lifespan without failure lies at over 17 years.

Philips includes a 3-year warranty on the Q-Line, which is available as of now.
