  • (1888PressRelease) February 01, 2012 - As the largest outdoor facility of its kind in South Wales, the business has invested in 80 low-impact kits which unlike the usual equipment, doesn't cause bruising on impact, with a support package from NatWest. Previously Taskforce could only cater for youngsters aged 11 and above. This investment means the company can now let younger siblings get involved, as well as provide an unusual birthday party venue for active youngsters.

The new low-impact kit involves a lower-calibre gun and much smaller paint pallets, which can be propelled with far less air than regular paintball equipment. This means that when the pellets land, they are far gentler on the body and don't cause bruising or break the skin. The business has also taken delivery of new armour vests to give women added protection.

As well as paintballing, Taskforce's site at Penllyn near Cowbridge also provides archery, laser tag, clay pigeon shooting and team-building activities across its 12 different game zones. The business, which has been operating since 1989 and employs a team of 4 full-time and 10 part-time satff, saw well over 10,000 customers take part in activities at the 30-acre site last year.

Owner Annette Chinn said: "It took us a while to realise that youngsters under 11 wanted to get involved but when we had families coming along and we couldn't let the younger children play, it made business sense to cater for a wider age range of customers. It makes it a better allround family activity too. And in the past some women have been put off with the thought that it can sometimes be quite a painful activity, but the new vests provide terrific added protection for the upper body, in addition to the full protection suits that all of our players get."

NatWest senior relationship manager Maria Williams, who supports the bank's commercial and agricultural customers across Bridgend and the Vale, said: "This is such a popular activity. The fact that they are already considering investing in even more kit shows that they have made the right decision in extending their age range with this new equipment. This makes it a far more appealing activity for younger children and women who couldn't play before, or were worried about getting hurt".
