    Having suffered much sexual abuse as a child and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) later in life, Ms. Starr shares two of her 27 years of experience of therapy in which she documented in a journal. Readers will experience awe, respect, anger, and sadness when reading her book, but they'll also see how Ms. Starr's spirit is touched by wonder in the midst of her horror.

    Describing one particular night in which in her anger Ms. Starr decided as she cried out to God, "I'll show them. I'll show them all. I will get an incurable disease and then I will find a cure for it. Then someone will see me," Ms. Starr says that she forgot that she had made this conscious decision until she started writing in her journal. She then remembered and understood why she manifested MS. Her book describes how she worked to heal both her childhood trauma and her illness.

    Ms. Starr spent 13 years as a professional therapist with adults that were abused as children. She currently serves as a senior advisory committee member with the Township of Langley and holds a diploma in community social service work through Douglas College.
