  • (1888PressRelease) May 06, 2015 - In a bid to inspire and provide a platform to learn, share and grow, North East Technology Forum (NETF) will hold a unique OUT OF THE BOX SEMINAR on Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Guwahati in August this year. The seminar will feature talks by prominent local innovators and entrepreneurs from the North East, other parts of India and International countries. The primary objective of the seminar will be to inspire and act as a catalyst to fuel innovation amongst students, entrepreneurs and others from the North East.

The event will be shown live at prominent educational institutions of the North East and the proceeds from sponsorship or ticket sales from these individual events will be donated to the institution. The video feed of the event will also be shown live on the event website and once the event is over, videos of each individual talk will be made available on the event website and video sites like YouTube and Vimeo.

Mr. Manish Choudhury, President, NETF said, "OOTB will be an exciting one day conference that will bring Scientists, Technocrats, Top Government Officials, Policy and Decision Makers, Innovators, Educationists, Entrepreneurs, Corporates, Businessmen, students and other prominent people from across the North East under a single roof. We are inviting submission of abstracts from interested speakers on Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship on or before May 30, 2015. The speaker opportunity is open to all and should not exceed more than 1000 words. The abstract submitted can be in English, Assamese, Hindi or any other regional language."

The seminar will provide a platform for local innovators and entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas and innovations to an international audience. There will be speakers from different parts of India and abroad speak to the audience through video conferencing and local speakers from the North East who will deliver their topics in person.

Addressing the Press Conference, Dr.Bijay Krishna Dev Sarma, reputed Science writer and Mathematician and Hon'ble Advisor, North East Technology Forum said, "As per my knowledge, this is the first of its kind initiative in the region which aims to inspire people which is not an easy task. North East has a lot of education institutes, and students from North East India do not lack in educational opportunities. However the students lack guidance and nurturing and many are left confused as to what they want to do after their studies. I am confident that this forum will provide a good platform to give direction and guidance to our youth to start new initiatives or added impetus to their goals."

An extensive social media marketing outreach program is also being planned where the organisers plan to reach out across the world to find prominent and influential speakers, and increase awareness about the seminar among an international virtual audience.
