  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) June 01, 2013 - Out-Fit Challenge (http://www.out-fitchallenge.com/), an LGBT-focused sports organization, has recently announced America's most popular gay sports bar, GYM (http://www.gymsportsbar.com), as the official bar for Out-Fit Challenge New York. GYM quickly became a destination bar after being founded in March of 2005 in New York City by owner Rick Schmutzler. The bar has become a mainstay in the LGBT community for not only providing a unique atmosphere in the gay nightlife scene, but for also helping to found several now-existing leagues as well as sponsoring teams in over a dozen different leagues, and helping to host national tournaments in volleyball, soccer, water polo, rugby, and many more. Out-Fit Challenge and GYM will be joining forces for Out-Fit Challenge's 5k cross-country trail mud run event taking place on June 29th, 2013 at 9am at Tuxedo Park in Orange County, New York.

"This partnership was definitely one giant step in the right direction," begins CEO of Out-Fit Challenge, Tory Fitzgerald. "GYM Sportsbar is such a great fit for us; we both share the same ideas and want to help to really connect people and create a united community. Our mission statements really complement each other's and our goals coordinate together in unison."

Out-Fit Challenge is the brain child of CEO and founder Tory Fitszgerald who, with much dedication, has made it blossom to be a state to state national event, and the first ever LGBT-focused national mud run. Out-Fit Challenge premiered with a very successful mud run in Miami, and are now bringing the focus to the New York City area as part of the official line up of events during New York Pride. The event will bring awareness to the LGBT Family Equality Council, and New York's charity of choice, the Ali Forney Center. The mud run will feature 15+ military style obstacles that vary including mud, water and ice, and feature fun names for each obstacle such as Commando Crawl, Mud in Your Pants, Pipe Dreams and so on. After crossing the finish line racers can then join in a lively post-party that will feature a live DJ, drag queen hostesses, food, live entertainment and much more. Tickets to participate in the event are $55 per person with group discounts provided. Spectator tickets are $10 per person. Registrants can sign up to participate at http://out-fitchallenge.com/events/tuxedo-ridge/.

"I see this partnership with Out-Fit Challenge as a very natural partnership," begins founder of GYM Sportsbar, Rick Schmutzler. "They may be a new company, but I could see that they are going very strong. Both GYM and Out-Fit Challenge are on the leading edge of the LGBT sports boom and are committed to bringing the fun, competiveness and camaraderie of sports to the LGBT community."
