Ohio Fan Fest Takes Over Girard MetroPlex for Two Day Show in May

  • Youngstown-Warren, OH (1888PressRelease) April 26, 2022 - A new annual fan festival debuts on May 13-14, 2022 at the MetroPlex Expo Center in Girard, Oh. Ohio Fan Fest brings celebrity guests from Wrestling, Horror Films, the Paranormal, Voice Work, Music and Sci Fi genres. With more than 30,000 sq feet of celebrity guests and vendors, the show is sure to appeal to a wide range of fans.

    The show will feature a number of wresting superstars, including several top wrestlers from the AEW (All Elite Wrestling) league, who will be on hand to meet fans, sign autographs and take photos. Scheduled to appear:
    • Darby Allin (Saturday only) - After a successful independent wrestling career, Darby joined AEW in 2019. He has had legendary title matches with CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho and many more. In 2020 he won the TNT title and began a partnership with the Sting.
    • Kurt Angle (Saturday only) - retired professional wrestler, Olympic gold medalist in American freestyle wrestling, and former collegiate wrestler. He is best known for his tenures in WWE and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
    • Jake “The Snake” Roberts - is an American professional wrestler and actor currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) where he performs as manager to Lance Archer. He is best known for his WWF/WWE career and is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame.
    • The Butcher, The Blade & The Bunny – The Butcher & The Blade made their team debut in Pro Wrestling Rampage (PWR) on September 9, 2017 and continue today as an AEW tag team. The Bunny has been a professional wrestler since 2005 and is also the valet/manager for her husband, The Blade.
    • New Age Outlaws - six-time tag team champions in WWE, made up of "Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Badd Ass" Billy Gunn. The duo became popular in the late 1990s as members of the second incarnation of the professional wrestling stable D-Generation X.
    • Ron Simmons – Simmons is a retired professional football player and wrestler. He was selected in the 6th round of the NFL Draft in 1981, and played for the Cleveland Browns and the USFL Tampa Bay Bandits. He spent many years as a professional wrestler, primarily in the WWF/WWE, and won a number of heavyweight and tag team championships.
    • Powerhouse Will Hobbs – currently wrestling in AEW, Hobbs won multiple tag team and individual championship belts

    Ohio Fan Fest’s horror guests include:
    • Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 Reunion featuring Caroline Williams (Stretch), Bill Moseley (Chop-Top)and Bob Elmore (Leatherface)
    • Robert Kurtzman – In 1988, along with Gregory Nicotero and Howard Berger, Kurtzman formed K.N.B. EFX Group, an award-winning special makeup effects studio which has gone on to work on over 400 film and television projects. Originally from Crestline, OH, Kurtzman has since moved his studio to Atlanta and formed Robert Kurtzman MUFX, LLC. His new company has worked on films such as Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Ma and Doctor Sleep.
    • Rob Mello - Rob Mello is an American actor best known for his role as John Tombs in the Blumhouse breakout film, Happy Death Day, which he's reprised in Happy Death Day 2U.
    • R.A. Mihailoff – R.A. is best known for portraying Leatherface in the film Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, the third in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre series of movies. In his free time, Mihailoff has ghost hunted in a paranormal group called the Hollywood Ghost Hunters, which was founded by Kane Hodder.

    Other guests who will be appearing:
    • Vernon Wells - best known to international audiences for his role of Wez in the 1981 science fiction action film Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and Bennett in the military action film Commando. After Mad Max 2, Wells began appearing in Hollywood films, such as science fiction comedies Weird Science and Innerspace.
    • Mark Holton - best known for portraying Francis Buxton in Pee-wee's Big Adventure, Chubby in the Teen Wolf film series and Ozzie Jones in Leprechaun and Leprechaun Returns
    • Larry Kenney – Kenney is a radio personality and voice actor best known for his work as Lion-O on the 1980s Rankin/Bass cartoon ThunderCats, and Karate Kat, a martial arts black belt cat featured as part of The Comic Strip. He was also the voice of Bluegrass in SilverHawks and Dolph in TigerSharks. Kenney also did voice work for several breakfast cereal characters, including Count Chocula and Sonny the Cuckoo Bird.
    • Tom Cook - In the 1980s, animator Tom Cook worked on several of the most popular animated shows, including The Smurfs, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, The Original Ghostbusters, BraveStarr, and more.

    Ohio Fan Fest will take place from 5 PM to 10 PM on Friday, May 13 and 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday, May 14 at the MetroPlex Exp Center (1620 Motor Inn Drive, Girard, OH 44420).

    Tickets are available in advance through the Tickets link on the web site www.ohiofanfest.com or at the door. Advance purchase admission prices are $15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday or $25 for both days (prices increase at the door). VIP packages are available for purchase as well as professional photo op packages for some of the guests.
