NYSEIA Names Two New Members to Board of Directors

  • Albany-Schenectady-Troy, NY (1888PressRelease) September 28, 2010 - New York Solar Energy Industries Association (NYSEIA) today announced that Ruth E. Leistensnider, a partner in Nixon Peabody LLP's Albany energy and environmental practice, and H. Sebastian Goeres of Droege & Comp, have been named to its board of directors.

    Also, re-elected were: Janet Gagnon, Esq., Head of Government Relations for SolarWorld, and Dr. Gay Canough of ETM Solar Works, Inc. in Buffalo, NY, who is the association's treasurer.

    The directors will serve three year-terms and lead the association in its mission to educate relevant stakeholders about the benefits of solar energy and expand the development and use of solar power in the state.

    Leistensnider has more than 20 years of experience in siting and permitting of energy facilities and other infrastructure projects throughout NY with a focus on renewable generation issues. She also is a member of Alliance for Clean Energy New York and Independent Power Producers of New York.

    Goeres has eight years of international consulting and business development experience working with energy and other high-tech companies in North America and Europe. Prior to Droege, he worked for the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC) and Edelman.
