  • Fort Worth-Arlington, TX (1888PressRelease) February 27, 2021 - Leila the Pet Vet is one of the youngest supporters of the Humane Society of North Texas. At just nine (9) years old, she is doing her part to help the animals and staff there recover from the extreme winter weather of last week’s blizzardy storms. She is kicking off a year-long donation drive with a seasonal spin this Saturday. Right now, there is an urgent need to collect items such as puppy & kitten formula, puppy pads, and small plastic swimming pools for the pets in the foster program waiting to be adopted. Leila the Pet Vet hosts a donation drive each year.

The impact of the winter storms caused pipes to burst leading to extensive water damage at the Humane Society’s Saxe-Forte location at 1840 E. Lancaster Ave. in Fort Worth. Leila, who usually does a donation drive around her birthday in June, decided to start her fundraising season sooner to help pets in need right now.

Leila the Pet Vet says, “We can all use help sometimes, but animals can’t ask so I’m doing it for them.”

This new donation campaign is called Seasons of Giving and will last for one full year. The goal for each season is to collect 1,000 new or gently used and clean items for animals in the foster program per quarter. Leila adds, “This is an important project because we are all working together to help improve the lives of these animals who need a little extra love before they can find their FUR-ever homes.”

Media is invited from 8 AM to 10 AM for interviews, video, and photos of Leila the Pet Vet, who will be onsite at the Saxe-Forte location on Saturday, February 27th to thank donors as items are dropped off. Masks are required.
