  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2014 - Avanti Films announced the production of a new cutting edge, ground breaking "Noir" series entitled The Port of San Pedro. Set in the 1950's, shot in black and white, and bringing back the classic glamour of this era, the series includes a diversified cast that proudly represents Los Angeles, including:
    - Melodie Shih as the ultimate Chinese femme fatale, Luli May Tang, a new Asian American actress.
    - Jesus Guevara as Augustine "Quint" Quintero a strong, Latino male lead and award-winning actor from Venezuela.

Jon Komp Shin as Lee Tang, a fast-rising, Asian-American actor.

Mark Mikita as Mike Moretti aka "Silent Mike," a martial arts master renowned for his weapon- based, martial arts, who has trained actors from Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren, to Benicio Del Toro.

A perfect cast, and a thrilling script that brings back an original film recipe - the dark side of human nature, the reality of the world and the human condition while mixing it up with crooked cops, twisted love, cheap snitches, bad luck, betrayal, and murder like the classic 1950's film genre with a twist from the world of today.

The series vision is by the outgoing and charismatic creator/writer/director, Cleo Valente, an award winning filmmaker and producer with over a decade in the entertainment business, who brings her talent and passion for story telling to this world. Valente states, "The film noir style allows viewers to fully engage the mind and react with vivid imagination rather than with the typical in-your-face assault of gore and obscenities."
