  • Omaha, NE-IA (1888PressRelease) September 30, 2014 - On Monday, October 6, Arcadia Publishing will release a new title in its Campus History Series, York College. Three York College professors have put together a compilation of images of the institutions histories by using images from the college's Levitt Library, the Kilgore Library, the Anna Bemis Palmer Museum, and private collections.

The book is divided into sections chronologically, and begins with the 1890s and York's two colleges - York Business College and Normal School. There are many vintage images of both faculty and students. The book displays students participating in athletic events, school picnics and festival. For many years students participated in an annual May Day celebration, which marks the beginning of spring.

York College is the ultimate yearbook for the institution. It demonstrates how the school changed from its single-building home in the 1890s up to the multi-building campus of the present day. It is filled with the spirit of the school, and the images truly capture the lively history of York College.
