  • Bellingham, WA (1888PressRelease) June 06, 2015 - Raymond E. Tew, Post Production Manager for Samson Rope, has been selected as an Honored Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals.

    Beginning his career in the manufacturing industry in 1982, Raymond E. Tew worked for Allsop Plastics as a Plastics Technician. Climbing the ranks within the organization, he became their plant production manager in the early 1990's. Eighteen years ago he began working for his current company, Samson Rope, and is now serving as their Post Production Manager.

    "I manage a team of 28 employees that are cross-trained through the Post Production Department, consisting of color coating of processed rope, fabrication/splicing, and hardware application of rope, and the finished good processing of our products," Mr. Tew explained. "I enjoy working with team members and taking on a challenge. Being competitive in and out of the workplace brings that win attitude to the team and workplace and I enjoy motivating and developing others."

    Mr. Tew is also responsible for quality, safety programs, and lean processing within his department, as well as team building throughout the company.

    Aspiring to continue in manufacturing management with his current organization, Mr. Tew looks for continued improvement in processing and via networking with others in the field. He also previously taught night school at Western Washington University in the Plastics Injection Molding field.

    Serving as a board member and president of his local Meridian Youth Athletic Association for 10 years, Mr. Tew has expanded the program from 3-6 grades to K-6, which he has found to be very rewarding for himself and the community.

    An ISO certified company member, Mr. Tew also completed Plastics Injection Molding schooling/training as part of the Society of Plastic Engineers, where he is currently a member.
