  • San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) March 28, 2015 - Max Friedheim, President of PDQ Precision Inc., has been selected as an Executive of the Year Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals.

Beginning his career in the tool business in New York, Max Friedheim was always looking for new ideas. Creating a number of items of tools and machinery, techniques, and suggestions that would benefit the industry, in time he created his own line of equipment that would become the benchmark for his new business.

Developing the Mini-Max cleaners, which won the award for technology from the South Coast Air Quality Management District, this patented technology coverts drops of water into superheated steam vapor instantly. This cleaning, waterless technology eliminated the need for solvents and leaves no wastewater to dispose of.

Mr. Friedheim formed the Starline School of Jewelry Design's first private school teaching wax carving and designing with a special electrical wax carving tool. Jointly, he had the Precise Casting Institute teaching lost wax casting to the professional jewelers and others. In later years, as the need for cleanliness of instrument cleaning became apparent in the central processing department of hospitals, Mr. Friedheim did the testing and had FDA approval for cleaning medical instruments.

"This technology is currently in use in medical and pharmaceutical professions," Mr. Friedheim explained, including electronics, automotive, machine shops, surface preparation, facilities, etc., as well as military and private weapons cleaning tasks."

Now, in the post-Vietnam era, the need for proper weapons maintenance and cleaning brought about growth to the mini-max cleaners, developing an engine that can go non-stop for 24/7, consuming an average of about 20 gallons of water/8 hours of service. Used in automation in electronics and machinery industries, this is the greenest possible cleaning system, using only water converted to steam on demand. Mini-Max has since received 10 awards; six gold three silver; and one bronze from DoD.
