National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Douglas A. Turner Sr. as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Online Registry

Turner Sr., President of Mahaffey Borough, has been selected as an Honored Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. The selection recognizes Douglas A. Turner Sr.'s commitment to excellence in Government and Borough Council.
Douglas A. Turner Sr. began his career in 1990 at The Brethren Ministries with his wife JoAnne after graduating from Bible College. Providing meals during the holidays to help senior citizens get by, the experience led him to work in a soup kitchen. After retiring from the Pennsylvania State Department of Corrections many years later, he decided to get into local government by running for the Mahaffey Borough Council. Several years later, he was voted as president of the borough, the position he holds today.
Presiding over all borough meetings and special meetings, assisting in all communications with solicitors and committees in the borough, and approving all payments to borough employees, Mr. Turner is thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to serve his community.
"Recognizing the needs of our small community and that other's aren't standing in line to make things happen are two reasons why I am inspired to continue doing what I'm doing," Mr. Turner said about his current role as president. "I believe that there is always room for growth and improvement in our community, and I do my very best to lead by example."
Crediting his military experience, training and work as a corrections officer at a state prison, and his 28 years of ministry work to his ability to serve the Borough of Mahaffey in such a great capacity, Mr. Turner is currently pursuing his master's degree in child and family counseling to be able to provide development in working with and understanding people. Hoping to stay active in local government, he also wishes to open his own private practice in the future where he can help families with the many issues that affect the human population.
