  • Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2014 - Daniel Herrera, Vice-Chairman of Hudson County Republican Club: Young Professionals, has been selected as an Honored Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals.

    Daniel Herrera began his career in politics while still in college. His first position was with the Republican National Committee in Washington, DC where he worked on the 2012 presidential election. It was the first step in advancing his political aspirations that later became a candidacy for city council in his hometown in Bayonne, New Jersey.

    Currently serving as the campaign manager for Michael Alonso who is running for Freeholder in Hudson County, New Jersey, Mr. Herrera is in charge of making sure that daily operations are running smoothly and that they are optimizing their networking and campaign resources to the best of their abilities. He also had the authority to bring staff members on board who want to help the campaign succeed.

    "For as long as I can remember, I always enjoyed community service. I wanted to work with groups and like-minded individuals to ensure we are on a path for growth. It's in my soul to want to help people and I feel that I can do so through the political process, bringing peace and prosperity to my community," Mr. Herrera said.

    Mr. Herrera will be graduating with a BA in Political Science from Catholic University of America in May 2015. He plans on attending law school in the Fall of 2015 to study corporate law, specifically concentrating on banking and finance law. He has already had the opportunity to work in many areas in politics, both in the private and public sector, and was an office assistant for US Congressman Robert Turner during Hurricane Sandy where he was given the task to communicate with residents and provide them information needed. He worked at the New Jersey Republican State Committee and later at Freedom Works in Washington, DC. He also attended many political conferences around the country, ranging from New York to Arizona.

    Honored by the American Legion: Frederick A. Mackenzie, Post #165 for being a Boy State Ambassador, Mr. Herrera was also cited on Yahoo! News for his criticism of South Carolina's US Senator Lindsey Graham.
