  • Lansing-East Lansing, MI (1888PressRelease) April 28, 2014 - Lynda Neff, who accepted her current position at Olivet College in August 2011, is serving as a full-time faculty member who also serves on the Senate Committee and is an active advisor to student members of the Gamma Iota Sigma Alpha Alpha Chapter.

Upon accepting her position in 2011, Ms. Neff collaborated with the Eaton Intermediate School District where she was instrumental in spearheading a unique insurance education program geared to high school juniors and seniors. Successful students earned nine Olivet College undergraduate credits while still in high school. She even led and motivated her first high school student in the US to achieve his AINS designation from the prestigious Institutes, an insurance organization that focuses on continuing education primarily for adults already in the financial services industry.

Now an assistant professor, focusing on financial planning, Ms. Neff facilitates classes for both undergraduates and MBA students. Her success can be attributed to over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. During those years she held such positions as product development specialist, director of life operations, corporate performance improvement manager, competitive research manager, and advanced markets consultant.

"I decided to join academia because the financial services industry is in need of successors," Ms. Leff explained. "By sharing my enthusiasm for this industry, I hope to guide top-notch young people to careers that will help citizens of the US be financially comfortable."

With plans to continue teaching at Olivet, Ms. Neff would like to also create a high school financial planning program to complement the existing insurance program. Ms. Neff holds a BS in Organizational Psychology from High Point University and an MS in Financial Services from American College. She is a Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Life Underwriter, and Fellow Life Management Institute. She has served in numerous capacities for various organizations, including a president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer for local chapters of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and Toastmasters.
