    Special events for the kids include a month long decorating party at the Dinosaur Discovery Museum! Kids can drop by the museum, accompanied by an adult, from December 1st through the 30th, 2015, between 12 Noon and 5pm to make cool dinosaur ornaments for the Museum's tree, or take it home to hang on their own tree!

    Frost Fest, another kids favorite, is three, FREE, fun filled, days of winter break fun. This year's jam packed Frost Fest schedule includes:
    • Frozen Science
    Monday, December 28, 1-4pm
    Kids learn how Arctic animals survive in the harshest weather conditions.

    • Arctic Fun and Games
    Tuesday, December 29, 1-4pm
    Create Inuit crafts, view artifacts and play games unique to the Arctic area. Discover how the people of the Arctic live in extreme environments, even above the Arctic circle!

    • Celebrate the New Year!
    Wednesday, December 30, 1-4pm
    Get ready for the New Year by making hats and decorations for your 2016 Holiday celebration. Ring in the New Year right with your own creative personal flair!

    Frost Fest is a drop in program for children accompanied by an adult, and is one of the many FREE kids events sponsored by the Friends of the Museums throughout the year.

    Also included in this year's Holiday schedule is the Kenosha Public Museum's 14th Annual International Holiday Festival, and the Civil War Museum's Victorian Christmas Celebration, both on Saturday, December 5th, offering music, dance, shopping and more, along with the Holiday Train Display in the Kenosha Public Museum's Lobby, are all made to order hits for guests of all ages.

    Free, Fun, (and yes, educational), family events are the Kenosha Public Museums specialty. From permanent and special exhibits to parades, festivals to workshops, international flavor to local charm, the collection of museums, including the Dinosaur Discovery and Civil War museums, are truly an asset to not only the Kenosha area, but the entire State of Wisconsin!
