  • (1888PressRelease) October 21, 2010 - El Paso, TX - native Sylvia Lester, formally Lopez, and her two up-and-coming daughters, Samantha and Danielle, are proud to announce their involvement in Vision Entertainment and Suzanne DeLaurentiis' Production of The Grief Tourist. The film, which stars Michael Cudlitz and Melanie Griffith, wrapped filming in Los Angeles, CA in early October, and is set for release sometime next year. The mystery thriller follows a disturbed and troubled soul, Jim Tahana, as he retraces the footsteps of serial killers who fascinate him as his hobby. His dark obsession with past killers soon becomes his reality and leads viewers on a menacing and horrific journey inside his twisted mind.

The talented Lester family heads up the stunning cast, with mom Sylvia in the starring role of a troubled former alcoholic whose strong soliloquy is one of the film's highpoints. Sylvia's two daughters were born and raised in Harlingen, TX, instantly following in their mother's footsteps as a singer/actor/dancer triple-threat. Ever since she sang her first solo at a PTA performance in the second grade, Sylvia has had a bug for the business, spending most of her time thrilling audiences in musical theatre productions. Twenty year-old Samantha and seventeen year-old Danielle each have featured roles in The Grief Tourist, with Samantha playing opposite Griffith as a diner waitress in the film's key scenes. Samantha, currently a student at UCLA, joined Suzanne DeLaurentiis Productions' mentorship program two years ago along with her sister, who is currently third in her senior class at Bellarmine-Jefferson High School in Burbank. Danielle recently had a guest starring role in CBS's hit Criminal Minds.

Vision Entertainment Group founders and producers Zachery Bryan (Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift, The Game of their Lives, Held For Ransom) and Adam Targum (writer/producer Standof, Eleventh Hour, CSI:NY, The Good Student) team up with Suzanne De Laurentiis (10th & Wolf, Soul Fire Rising, I Believe in America, Shut Up and Kiss Me!) and Michael Cudlitz to produce the psycho thriller. Written by Frank John Hughes, who starred in Band of Brothers and Catch Me If You Can, the film stars Michael Cudlitz of Southland, A River Runs Through it, and The Negotiator, who also co-produces with Ivan Kavalsky (10th & Wolf). Griffith is currently in production on Nick Cassavette's drama Yellow, also starring Sienna Miller and Ben Foster, but is best known for her iconic turns in Working Girl, Something Wild, Body Double, Born Yesterday, Crazy in Alabama, and Cecil B. Demented.
