  • (1888PressRelease) March 26, 2013 - There is huge potential for the Oil & Gas resources to transform the southern Africa economy. Recent discoveries of major gas and oil substances in Southern Africa could improve the prospects for southern African countries dramatically by; reducing imports, increasing economic growth, and lowering CO2 levels in power generation. However it is essential to consider the measurements that will be taken when extracting these rich resources from the Sea.

    The challenge is for the companies involved to find the best way to take advantage of these opportunities. The main difficulty in retrieving these resources is combining the locations, logistics, production timing and market opportunities. However, those governments and companies that create and develop a range of options will be the ones to benefit from long-term development. This is why the Southern Africa Oil & Gas Summit is a key networking event as it will bring together the key players in retrieving the rich resources.

    From Morocco in the North West all the way down to Cape Town in the South West of Africa, the West Coast Africa: Deepwater and Pre-Salt Oil & Gas Summit will be covering offshore Oil & Gas opportunities along the entire Western Coast of Africa. Deepwater opportunities and developments across the Gulf of Guinea will be uncovered as well as Angola and South West Africa's pre-salt boom . The latest developments in 3D seismic testing as well as Country-by-country guides and Case studies of Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Angola, Congo and many more countries will all be available at the event.

    The West African Coast was assessed for undiscovered, technically recoverable oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids resources. The USGS estimated volumes of 3.2 billion barrels of oil, 23.63 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and 721 million barrels of natural gas liquids.

    The two unique conferences are hosted alongside the only Oil & Gas Awards ceremony to be held in Africa.
    The Awards are judged by a prestigious panel of senior level figures in Africa's Oil & Gas industry. This includes: Energy Ministers, NOC's (National Oil Corporations) and IOCs (International Oil companies).

    It is free for the Oil & Gas operators to enter;

    Already confirmed to judge:
    Sumayya Hassan-Athmani CEO for National Oil Corporation of Kenya

    There is no doubt that the Oil and Gas Industry in Africa is developing year by year, and it has never been more attractive for the ambitious explorer.
