Oslo, Norway - MOONFRAME announced today that its AI-native short film The Secret Life Of DisPlay Artists has won Bronze in the Generative AI-Narrative category at the 47th Annual Telly Awards. Written, directed, produced, edited, and music-directed by Carmen Gloria Pérez, The Secret Life Of DisPlay Artists is an absurd sci-fi dramedy about human purpose in a world optimized by advanced technology and AI.

The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens and receive more than 13,000 entries globally. The recognition follows additional festival momentum for The Secret Life Of DisPlay Artists, including finalist selections at Artefact AI Film Festival, World AI Film Festival, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology AI Film Festival. The film was developed in connection with Artefact AI Film Festival’s 2026 “DisPlay” theme, where it became a finalist, and is now distributed by mk2 as part of its short film collection.

“For me, AI is not a replacement for storytelling,” said Pérez. “It is a way to build worlds that might otherwise sit on a hard drive, and to keep developing my voice as a filmmaker without waiting years for permission, funding, or access. I write the stories myself, shape the characters, direct the visual world, edit by hand, and make the final creative decisions. There is no magic button. The work is still in the writing, the choices, and the human point of view.”

Pérez, an actress with credits including Netflix’s Young Royals and A Storm for Christmas, founded MOONFRAME as a creator-led AI-native studio building cinematic original worlds for the AI era. Her previous AI science fiction short The Mars Novella won Best Science Fiction at the AI Media Festival and the Prediction Award at the Burano AI Film Festival, and has drawn audience interest in an expanded series.

“The question for me is not whether AI can make images,” Pérez added. “The question is: what stories can now be told by people who did not previously have access to large budgets, crews, sets, visual effects, or traditional greenlights? I believe we need more stories from more perspectives, and AI can help open that door.”

The Secret Life Of DisPlay Artists premiered publicly on YouTube on May 15, 2026. Watch the film here: https://youtu.be/cmXTGTMtSwE.
