    About the Water Awareness Committee
    Formed in 1988, the Water Awareness Committee of Monterey County, Inc. consists of representatives from public agencies and private companies, as well as interested citizens. A non-profit, 501(3)(c), public-benefit, tax-exempt corporation organized for educational and charitable purposes, the Committee operates on donations and grants from public and private entities. It is dedicated to promoting personal responsibility through education for the conservation and beneficial use of water in Monterey County. It strives to bring together community representatives and resources to advance water awareness, conservation and water quality issues. It also serves as a link between the community and the water industry. The Water Awareness Committee provides an array of educational programs for children and adults. The organization is dedicated to affecting changes in water-use behavior by raising our communities' awareness of water resources and conservation.
